Summary

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry had a fascinating life and a legendary death. A commercial pilot, travel reporter, and political activist, he conceived The Principle during his long solo flights across the Sahara Desert. Although Saint-Exupéry's novel is considered a children's work, it contains invaluable insights that address themes such as loneliness, friendship, love, selfishness, sacrifice, duty, and, above all, the importance of what we are versus what we seem. The Principle is one of the most profound and beautiful books ever written. An enduring masterpiece that has captivated millions of readers around the world.

Author Biography

Albert Arrayás is a professional illustrator who studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona and the Escola de la Dona. He currently has 25 children's books published. To date, he has published works in Spain, Portugal, Germany, China, South Korea, and Brazil. His first book as a children's author and illustrator was El pirata de las estrellas (The Pirate of the Stars), published in Spain and Germany in 2014. In 2017, he published his second book as an author and illustrator, The Mystery of Chickentown, in Spain by Babulinka Books, and his third book was A Thousand Hugs and a Sweet Nudgeen (A Thousand Hugs and a Sweet Nudgeen) published by Lumen. Other books he has created as an illustrator include Mahatma Gandhi (in 2019 by Alba Editorial) and Little People & Big Dreams (published in the UK, USA, Spain, Portugal, and Germany). Albert's work reflects delicacy, beauty, and, above all, a dreamlike world, accompanied by details and textures. You can walk around large spaces where there is no room for anything else, or enjoy the blank space for your mind to fill in with its imagination. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was a French aviator, writer, and adventurer whose life was marked by his passion for aviation and literature. He was born in Lyon and from a young age felt a profound fascination with the skies, which led him to become a pilot and pioneer of commercial aviation, flying routes in Europe, Africa, and South America. His experiences as an aviator inspired much of his literary work. However, his greatest recognition came with The Little Prince (1943), a poetic and philosophical tale that, under the guise of a children's story, addresses profound reflections on life, friendship, and human nature. Written during his exile in the United States, the book arose from a publishing commission and ended up becoming one of the most translated and widely read works in the world. Saint-Exupéry disappeared in 1944 while on a reconnaissance mission during World War II, leaving behind a literary and philosophical legacy that continues to inspire generations.
