Author Biography

American Fiction.
Before turning to fiction, Leslie worked in advertising, magazines, and book publishing. She was
a copywriter at Bantam Books, launched the "Intelligencer" column at New York Magazine and
wrote the first articles about women in policing for Rolling Stone. She was a frequent
contributor to women's magazines with both fiction and nonfiction, including Women's Own,
Redbook, and Cosmopolitan. Her first novel, Getting Away with It, published by Doubleday, was
a BOMC Alternate. After her play Strokes was produced by Robert Brustein at the Repertory
Theatre at Harvard, Leslie was recruited to daytime TV where she served a brief stint as a script
and breakdown writer for The Guiding Light. Her play later become the novel Over His Dead
Body published by Random house and was optioned for a feature film.
Lindsey Glass is an author, screenwriter, and recovery advocate. Lindsey is daughter of bestselling
author Leslie Glass and granddaughter of Milton Gordon, producer of Lassie and other
beloved early TV series. You could say that creating stories and content is in her blood. Lindsey
grew up in Manhattan where she graduated from Riverdale Country School. She received her
B.A. from Johns Hopkins and M.A. from NYU in Communications, Management and Technology.
Lindsey has written screenplays, TV shows and produced award-winning documentaries. Her
first documentary, The Secret World Of Recovery (2012) received the American Society Of
Addiction Medicine Media Award in 2016. Her second documentary, The Silent Majority (2014)
premiered at the Gasparilla Film Festival and on PBS Tampa and was distributed nationally to all
PBS stations by American Public Television.
In 2011, Lindsey co-founded the recovery media company Reach Out Recovery, developing one
of the premiere recovery websites in the country. reachoutrecovery.com has attracted over 5
million visitors since 2018. On Reach Out Recovery, Lindsey’s articles have been distributed,
read, and shared all over the globe hundreds of thousands of times. She has served as a
recovery advocate for multiple government agencies including NASADAD, Faces and Voices Of
Recovery, Young People In Recovery, and more. For more than a decade, Lindsey has been part
of the effort to reform health care and legal policies for people suffering from mental health and
addiction issues.
