Summary

In our complicated world, parents, young people and youth leaders frequently face the subject of homosexuality. And for most people there are far more questions than answers. Author and seasoned counselor Don Schmierer provides a balanced perspective of this complex issue, discussing its various physical, emotional and spiritual aspects with wisdom and compassion. An Ounce of Prevention provides practical and carefully researched responses to such questions as: Are some people born gay? How well have Christians responded to gender confusion? What does the Bible say about homosexuality? What role should families, friends, and churches play? Can homosexuality be prevented? Author Schmierer writes, "Our primary purpose is to reach out loving hands toward those who are hurting. We also hope to increase the understanding of those who care about a specific young person or group of young people, those who care about healing broken hearts, and those who hope to find their own answers to some of life's toughest questions." Book jacket.
