Summary

Eternity Magazine, The Bible Study Hour, the Philadelphia Conference on Reformed Theology, the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy, the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals: in all of these institutions, either Donald Grey Barnhouse or James Montgomery Boice, pastors of Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, played leading roles. "We give praise to God for his sovereign grace and for the amazing privilege of reaching our city and our world with the love of Jesus Christ," writes Philip G. Ryken, senior minister of Tenth Presbyterian, on the occasion of its 175th anniversary. "Our prayer is that this book will help you to do the same, wherever God has called you to serve." Historians Allen C. Guelzo and William S. Barker contribute the five historical chapters, while Ryken writes on "A Church for the 21st Century." One of seven appendixes is a short history of music at Tenth, written by organist and music director Paul S. Jones. Fourteen photographs appear on an eight-page insert. Book jacket.
